Game 4 - Crystal Lake Babe Ruth (Illinois) 13 Astros 11 LP PJ Lenz (1-1)
Oh my!!!! In the opener of the playoffs the Astros hook-up with the Crystal Lake Babe Ruth team from Illinois which turns out to be one of the worst umpired games I've ever seen and ultimately turns into a slugfest. The Astros fall behind early and trail 8-2 after 1 inning of play, we rally for 7 runs in the 2nd inning and then 2 more in the 3rd as we take an 11-8 lead but Crystal Lake scores 5 unanswered runs from there and beat us in a heart-wrenching 13-11 ballgame. I refuse to take anything away from the Crystal Lake club who are quite talented and beat us fair and square, HOWEVER, this was the WORST game I've ever seen called by a home plate umpire, the ball & strike calls were ATROCIOUS and my heart goes out to PJ & Adam who experienced it first hand. I will also say that it was poorly called on both sides, it just so happened that the Illinois boys took greater advantage of the umps than we did. Oh how I'd love to get that team on the field again but with a different home plate umpire!!!
In any case, it was quite a ballgame and our boys did rally after trailing 8-2 so we did show heart and grit but could not rally late and lost this one by the score of 13-11 after 5 innings of play as time expired.

Game 5 - Astros 12 Central Florida Slayers 0 WP Dylan Harmon (1-0)
The Astros end the tournament on a positive note behind the masterful pitching performance of Dylan Harmon who throws the complete game shutout victory and ends up with 7 shutout innings of work in the tournament! Great job Dylan! The Astros break it open with 7 runs in the 2nd inning and do not look back from there in the 5 inning 12-0 run rule victory which win us the bronze medal trophy! In that 2nd inning Max Tecce (2 hits/RBI) singles home the first run and then Ryan Rusoff (2B/2 RBI) doubles home the next 2 runs as we coast home from there! Other Astros contributors are Adam Binder who singles twice (RBI), Cam Maron who drives home 2 runs (1 hit) and Vin Carminati who pegs out a runner at second base with a bullet throw from the left field fence. And what a GREAT victory!
