Long Island Astros vs LI Giants @ Old Fields school

Game # 1 Astros 6 Giants 2                                                                                                                                                                                              WP Junior Fair (3-0)

The Astros plate 4 runs in the top half of the 4th inning and never look back in defeating the LI Giants by the final score of 6-2. Junior Fair continues his pitching dominance in a complete game victory and wins his third game of the season! The Astros set the tone in the 1st inning as Dan Levine nails a runner at home on the perfect strike from RF, this averts a big Giant inning as the Astros allow only 1 run in the 1st inning. In the 4th inning the Astros break open a pitchers duel and score 4 runs, Ryan Rusoff starts the rally with a 1out double, Dan Levine follows with an RBI double to tie the game and then steals third and scores on a Giants overthrow, Zach Root singles and then Cam Maron doubles home the 3rd run of the inning and then steals 3rd base and scores on another Giants overthrow. The Astros add 2 more runs in the 6th inning as Ryan Rusoff & Dan Levine lead off the inning with singles and score on a Zach Root double which puts the Giants away for good. Nice start on a beautiful spring afternoon!

Joe Lawrence throws 6 innings of 3 hit ball while allowing 1 base on balls and no earned runs! A mighty fine performance as Joe runs his record to a perfect 3-0 on the season! JC Clancy closes out the game with a perfect 1-2-3 7th inning and slams the door shut on a resurgent Giants squad who score 3 runs in the 6th inning to make it a 2 run ballgame. Great job by all the boys who played hard today and take two from a gritty Giants squad.
